On with the show...
It's New York, the year is 4949, the local
unemployed live in a gigantic, nearly prison
like sanctuary called the Hoop.
These jobless people live on state provided
credit cards and watch brainless holo-soaps
in the small world of their own, because the
chances of getting work are practically none.
But Halo Jones is through with this, and she's
getting away from this stinking rock.
She's going out, and she's going further than
anyone before her. at the age of eighteen,
she leaves earth with her faithful hound
Toby and meets various wonderful and not so
wonderful people.
This skin started off as another Halo Tribute
but somehow turned into a skin based around
Toby, either way it works and ultimately is
a tribute to the series as a whole.
I first came to the Halo Jones series, back in
the mid '80s in it's original format in the
comic book 2000AD, it struck me,even then ,
as something different to the usual big guns and
bigger explosions type of comics of the day,
and that something has stuck in my mind even to
this day. I still read the collected story
every so often, and still find new things even
today.
Now nearly 20 years on from it's original
publication it's still is one of the most
original, different stories you could ever read,
and still contains possibly the greatest final
line EVER, I dare not repeat it here, for of
pre-empting genius.

bookstore or dive on Amazon.com and order up
"The complete Ballad of Halo Jones" today, you
will not regret it.
