EDO AMP

A Winamp skin based on the Ukiyo-e style of
Japanese art. Ukiyo-e means "Art of the
floating world" which is a description of
Japanese high society at the time.
The skin uses the art of Sharaku, Kitagawa,
and Hokusai, famous Ukiyo-e artists. The
script used in the equalizer is from
Toyokuni's "Famous women from famous places"
series- I chose it for the graceful way
the script is written. I do not know what
it means- I am not Japanese and my knowledge
of the language is mediocre at best :)
(Nihongo wa totemo muzukashi desu!)
Three of the title bar textures are also
taken from Ukiyo-e prints- they are from
the elegant women's clothing.
It is the third and final skin in my series
of "Ancient Empire" skins for winamp 2.x -
the first two are LUXORamp (Egyptian) and
CAESARamp (Roman) They are both downloadable
at www.winamp.com - just search for the
skin titles in the little search box:)
As usual, please check out the easter egg:)

For this skin, I wanted to recreate the look of one of those old-style amps. The skin has a kind of grungy look (as was my intent), but I tried to make it as realistic as possible. Ce ...
